Primary Vision Care
Our goal is to provide the best vision health care in a comfortable, friendly environment. Your eyes provide early detection for many diseases that can affect more than just your vision. Early diagnosis of diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease are just a few of the illnesses that can be detected through visual health examinations. Our eye doctor feels it is very important to review your family history and then monitor your health to detect diseases early.
Dr. Ostrander evaluates and treats many eye problems including infections, foreign bodies, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, and macular degeneration using state of the art instruments and techniques.
Your Eye Exam
Our state-of-the-art retinal camera takes a digital image of the interior of the retina, blood vessels and nerves of the back of the eye. If necessary, the doctor performs a dilation of the pupils to check for retinal disorders, macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease. This may result in light sensitivity, therefore we recommend wearing dark sunglasses after your appointment (bring your own, or we have disposables). Most people can drive after dilation; however, please arrange to have a driver if you are uncertain.
Our doctor works closely with ophthalmologists in the area to provide consulting and post-operative care if you are in need of laser surgery, cataract removal or other surgical issues. We also provide pre- and post-operative care for LASIK.
